同门曰朋，同志曰友
高层往来日益密切，党际交流持续深化，政治互信愈加稳固。中国有句古话，“同门曰朋，同志曰友”，这是中老关系的真实写照。
Frequent high-level contacts and deepened exchanges between our parties have enhanced our political mutual trust. As a Chinese saying goes, “Those who pursue the same cause and are inspired by the same vision become friends.” This is a vivid characterization of China-Laos relations.
众志成城
老挝人常说“一根柴棍烧不成旺火，一根木棍围不成篱笆”，中国人讲“众志成城”、“众人拾柴火焰高”。我坚信，只要中老彼此信任，携手合作，必将开创两国关系更加美好的明天。
As a Lao saying goes, “One piece of firewood does not make high flames, and a single wood stick does not make a fence.” And we have such sayings in China: “When united, people will become a mighty force.”“Flame will run high if everyone adds wood to it.” I am convinced that as long as our two countries trust each other and work together, we will create an even better future for our bilateral relations.
天道酬勤，日新月异
天道酬勤，日新月异。2017年，我们召开了中国共产党第十九次全国代表大会，开启了全面建设社会主义现代化国家新征程。我国国内生产总值迈上80万亿元人民币的台阶，城乡新增就业1300多万人，社会养老保险已经覆盖9亿多人，基本医疗保险已经覆盖13.5亿人，又有1000多万农村贫困人口实现脱贫。
As a Chinese adage goes, hard work always pays off. Indeed, our hard work has brought remarkable changes to China. In 2017, we held the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, embarking on a new journey of making all-round efforts to build a modern socialist country. China’s GDP has exceeded RMB80 trillion yuan. More than 13 million new jobs have been created in urban and rural areas. Over 900 million Chinese are now covered by social pension insurance and 1.35 billion Chinese have access to basic medical insurance. Another 10 million-plus rural people have been lifted out of poverty.
